New qualitative research conducted by our team investigated the experiences of clients receiving iOAT take-home doses from a community clinic in Vancouver, B.C. Participants reported that having take-home doses allowed them freedom to establish daily routines, make plans, and enjoy unstructured time outside the clinic. They also appreciated the increased privacy, accessibility, and the opportunity to engage in paid work. Additionally, having greater autonomy in managing their medication and interactions with the clinic contributed to an improved quality of life and continuity of care.
